Getting and Installing Lingo:
Simply download the ZIP archive (~129 kB) and unzip it to an appropriate place on your
hard disk, e.g. "c:/Lingo" or "C:/Program Files/Lingo". Inside the
Lingo: folder you should have four files and one folder called 'sets'.
The sets folder is where you will place your downloaded or home-made
datasets. Of the files, three are the java .class files - the actual
program components - and the fourth (Lingo.exe) is an executable wrapper
that makes launching Lingo: easy. You might want to put a shortcut to
Lingo.exe on your desktop or quick launch bar and maybe a shortcut to
the 'sets' folder too for easy access. You might also want to place a
folder called something like "sets-inactive" to which you can transfer
datasets you are not currently using
Lingo: can also be launched from the Command Prompt using the
command "java Lingo" or "javaw Lingo" (don't enter the quotes in the
command prompt window).
